Discipline 05 · How Compass Works
ARC™
How does the system keep improving without us?
Continuous renewal — Assess, Refine, Commit — running across the whole architecture and transferred to the client's own leaders.

Why it exists
Every operating system decays unless renewal is designed into it. ARC is the renewal engine: a disciplined rhythm of analyzing what the system is producing, refining what no longer fits, and committing to what is proven.
ARC runs across the whole Compass Enterprise Architecture rather than inside any one discipline, and it is the mechanism by which ownership of the architecture transfers to the client.

Connected by design
ARC continuously renews the Compass system by turning performance evidence and learning into improvement.
Every Compass process is part of one integrated system. Outputs from one process become inputs to the next. The FOUNDATION–SIMPLIFY–LEAD–GROW engine establishes how the enterprise performs and grows. The execution engine converts strategic and 80/20 priorities into coordinated change and disciplined delivery. ARC continuously renews both.
