COMPASSOS™ V2.1

CompassOS™

For leaders and their organizations. Compass Performance’s platform for connecting leadership, strategy, organization and execution.

  • One Strategic Intent cascaded to goals, programs, processes, roles and daily actions.
  • Value streams, RASCI and schedules make the work and the accountability visible.
  • Every review closes with ARC™: Analyze, Refine, Commit.
CompassOS v2.1 by Compass Performance, Inc. Build a Stronger Organization. Lead with Greater Impact. From Strategic Intent to Sustainable Performance. At the centre, the Compass: both the precision drawing instrument architects use to design and build and the navigational instrument explorers use to find direction. Its bridge connects strategic intent to execution, people, functions, borders and sustainable performance, over a faint map of the world. On the bridge stand FOUNDATION, SIMPLIFY, ARC, LEAD and GROW, supported by Front-to-Back 80/20, Change & Transformation, and Program & Project Management.
An architecture to develop leaders, align organizations, and pursue sustainable performance.
  1. Values, structure, and accountability. Connect leadership, culture, decision rights, and roles. Design a foundation that supports the strategy rather than depending on individual heroics.
  2. Remove waste and complexity. Examine value streams and distinguish value-added (VA), non-value-added (NVA), and necessary non-value-added (NVAR) work. Redesign complexity with intention.
  3. Analyze–Refine–Commit. ARC stands for Analyze, Refine, Commit: the feedback loop that returns learning to strategic focus. Revisit what is happening, adapt the approach, and commit to the next deliberate course of action.
  4. Leadership, ownership, and execution. Clarify accountability, build useful meeting cadences, and develop the leadership behaviors that turn decisions into coordinated action.
  5. Capability and sustainable growth. Identify the capabilities, organizational capacity, and leadership depth needed to support the next stage of growth.
  6. Find where value is created; informs Strategic Intent and SIMPLIFY. Front-to-Back 80/20 (FTB): focus the business end to end, from customers and products to operations: examine where value is created and where attention is diluted. Use an 80/20 lens to identify the few priorities that deserve disproportionate focus.
  7. Sponsorship, communication, readiness, and adoption. Carries the human side of change across every stage: sponsorship, communication, stakeholder readiness, and adoption.
  8. Scope, dependencies, decisions, and ownership. Gives work in any stage a clear delivery structure: scope, dependencies, decisions, ownership, and review cadence.

Walkthrough. CompassOS v2.1. A guided walkthrough of the public simulation, from Compass Performance.

The Compass Architecture. CompassOS is Compass Performance's platform for connecting leadership, strategy, organization and execution. Its opening screen carries the Compass Architecture: the compass at the center, the bridge from strategic intent to sustainable performance, and the five pillars, Foundation, Simplify, ARC, Lead and Grow. Beneath them sit Front-to-Back 80/20, Change and Transformation, and Program and Project Management.

What you are watching. Everything in this walkthrough is the public simulation. The workspace is a fictional Plant 2 robotic cell expansion. The data is illustrative, nothing you do in it is saved, and it does not connect to any live system.

One architecture, six perspectives. Inside, the left menu follows the Architecture. Your Compass shows one architecture from six perspectives. Choose a role at the top, and the same structure adapts to a chief executive, a founder, an operating partner, a functional executive, a leadership team, or an advisor.

Strategy 1-Pager. The Strategy 1-Pager holds direction on a single page: the long-range aim, where to play and how to win, the evidence behind it, and the commitments that follow.

Strategy-to-Action Cascade. The Strategy-to-Action Cascade carries that intent down, level by level: strategic intent, enterprise goals, team goals, programs and projects, and actions. Each level has an owner, a measure, a baseline and a target, and each one traces back to the level above.

Value streams. Process Design shows how the work flows. A value stream follows value end to end, from the first customer need to the result delivered. Here, the current and future maps of the robotic cell run sit side by side.

What changes. Below the maps, a simple table shows what changes: fewer hand-offs, no waiting steps, a qualified operator who owns setup, and a first-piece check before release.

RASCI. The RASCI view assigns every step in the swim lanes: who is Responsible, who is Accountable, and who Supports, is Consulted, or is Informed. The view also shows whether every step is valid.

Transformation. Transformation tracks the change itself: waves completed, average adoption, and output per shift against target. The change impact matrix rates how strongly each change lands on operators, cell leads, maintenance and quality.

Transition timeline. A transition timeline then shows each wave moving from the current state to the future state.

Program & Project Management. Program and Project Management lists every project in the program, each with an owner, a stage and a status. The program timeline is a Gantt view: bars run against a protected baseline, and changes go through change control.

Schedule & what-if. Schedule and what-if shows the critical path. You can test options, such as crashing or fast-tracking a cohort, and watch the finish date and the cost move. In the simulation, nothing is saved.

Performance & ARC. Performance and ARC brings the measures together and runs the ARC review cycle. Analyze the constraint. Refine the plan. Commit to the next actions, with the evidence beside each measure. Each review returns to the loop.

Simulated or live. In this simulation, every screen, number, name and what-if is illustrative. There is no sign-in, nothing is saved, and nothing connects to client systems. Your own CompassOS opens to your team after an engagement and authorized sign-in.

Coaching anchored in real execution.

Run your own practice on the Consultant Workbench, and offer CompassOS to your clients as their ongoing operating platform. With the client’s consent, the two connect, so every coaching conversation starts from the goals, progress and evidence the client has agreed to share.

Why it matters to your practice

  • Anchored in executionCoaching starts from agreed goals, measures and evidence, not from memory between sessions.
  • Continuity between sessionsYou see progress and decisions as they happen, within the scope the client grants.
  • Lasting client relationshipsOngoing, visible value builds retention while the client keeps full autonomy.

How the client stays in control

  • The client stays in controlThe client sets the scope and access, and can change or revoke it at any time.
  • One client, one scopeNo unrestricted shared database; each connection covers one client, with no cross-client visibility.
  • Least privilege, on the recordRole-based access to only what each person needs, with every access logged and auditable.
  • Continuity without lock-inThe relationship lasts because the work is visible and useful, never because the client cannot leave.
