Module 10 of 11 · 10 min

Review, publish and print the selected day

Why it matters

Paper keeps the day visible where notifications cannot bury it. The printed date must match the day you planned.

In this module you will

  • Print or save the sheet for the selected date.
  • Confirm that the header date and the file name match that date.

The idea

Choose the date first. The printed header and the suggested file name both come from it. The file name follows the original pattern: Compass_80-20-Daily-Management_YYYY-MM-DD_EN.pdf.

Step 5 (Review) checks the day before anything leaves the form: a frog, at least one of the three, every action lettered, every delegation with a person and a date, and no block overlapping an appointment or another block. It also suggests the original course rules: the frog first, and every open A action on the clock. Each item has a button that opens the step that fixes it, and the whole day is listed in time order.

Step 6 (Publish) is optional and always explicit. Review changes lists exactly what would be written: new blocks, moved blocks and blocks you removed. Nothing is written until you press Publish, and only the form’s own events are written into the one calendar you choose; your appointments are never touched. Publishing again changes nothing unless the plan changed, and Undo last publish takes the last publish back out. If someone moves one of your planner events in the calendar app, the form skips it rather than overwrite it. Step 7 (Print) prints the selected day or saves it as a PDF in one click, and downloads a text copy or an .ics copy that any calendar app can import. Pages are set up for US Letter.

Authorization: connecting a calendar means signing in with Google or Microsoft and approving two things only: reading your events and writing the events the planner creates. You can disconnect at any time, and revoking access in your account stops both. In this prototype Google and Outlook are a clearly labeled simulation: no sign-in happens and nothing is read from or written to either service. Live connections are not built yet. .ics files you open are read on your device and are read only.

Saving: the planner keeps each day in this browser on this device, one entry per date, so you can stop and resume; Clear this day removes it. Nothing is sent anywhere. The original Daily Practice Sheets keep one draft on your device and produce the PDF in English, French or Spanish, in several sizes; their optional extras, such as reminders, calendar email and a published calendar feed, send your entries to a server.

Step by step

  1. Why A sheet printed with the wrong date plans the wrong day.

Check the date in the form bar at the top.

  2. Why Problems are cheapest to fix before the day is shared.

In Review, clear every Fix item.

  3. Why A plan in the calendar is a plan other people can see and respect.

Review changes, then Publish to Calendar; or print, save, or download the .ics.

  4. Why Use the name you will search for later.

Print or save, using the suggested file name.

Worked example: the CEO

The CEO plans Friday the night before, prints Compass_80-20-Daily-Management_2026-10-23_EN.pdf, and leaves it on the desk beside the escalation log.

Practice it in the Daily Management form

This module is step 5 of the form: Review the day. What you enter there is saved on this device, so you can come back to it.

Open step 5
