Executive Forums

CONFIDENTIAL. NONCOMPETING. ACCOUNTABLE.

One community. Five executive rooms. Peer-level seriousness for owners, CEOs and functional executives — confidential rooms of noncompeting leaders who bring the decisions that carry real consequence, and return accountable for what they committed to do.

Membership runs $400 – $700 per month, renewed monthly — no annual contract.

A room where consequential decisions are examined before they are made.

A Compass Executive Forum exists for one reason: to give an executive a confidential room of noncompeting peers where the decisions that carry real consequence can be examined before they are made — and where the commitment that follows is held to account.

Five rooms · One standard of accountability

Find your room

Peer-level seriousness. Pick the room that matches the weight you carry.

Read what actually gets worked there — or print the brief to share with your board or leadership team.

The reality

The higher the seat, the fewer the honest conversations.

Executives are surrounded by people with a stake in the answer. Teams need confidence. Boards need certainty. Peers inside the company need direction.

What disappears is the room where the issue can be examined before the decision is made — where the question is sharper than the advice, and where no one has anything to sell.

That room is what Compass builds.

The room in session

Facilitated, not hosted.

Every forum is personally facilitated by Steve Kopecky. Rooms meet virtually once a month for up to three hours — a curated, noncompeting group that holds each other to what was committed.

How it works

Clear purpose. Clear process. Clear first session.

The room is built to make members better architects of their own enterprises. Over time the eight-step method, the Compass eight-point model, peer challenge, recorded commitments and longitudinal learning move the capability to the member — not to the facilitator.

Purpose

A confidential room where consequential decisions are examined before they are made.

Becoming a member

Fit conversation, fit profile, selection and invitation, agreement — typically two to three weeks.

Onboarding

A private onboarding session, your opening issue in writing, and a member brief exchanged with the room.

Day one

Accountability round, your ten-minute introduction, your issue worked, commitments on the record.

What this is not

This is not networking.

Evidence

The peer table is the instrument. There is evidence for that.

Compass forums are built on peer challenge against live decisions rather than curriculum. Published figures from large leadership cohorts are cited beneath each reading as support for that design choice.

How to read this band: every reading above is Compass's own interpretation, written from Compass engagements and the Compass Enterprise Operating Architecture. The published figures beneath each reading are supporting evidence only — they are cited to test the reading, not to make the argument, and none of them was produced for or with Compass.

The portfolio

Five executive rooms. One standard.

Each room is composed of noncompeting executives who carry comparable weight. The method, the standards, and the confidentiality are identical across all five . The Mental Fitness Lab is separate — a standalone cohort offered as its own service. Any executive room may also decide to adopt the Mental Fitness tools as part of its own group work.

Owner, CEO & President Forum

For founders, owners, CEOs, managing partners, presidents, and general managers carrying final accountability for the enterprise or a full operating result.

COO & Operations Forum

For chief operating officers and senior operations, supply-chain, and manufacturing executives.

CFO & Enterprise Finance Forum

For chief financial officers and senior finance executives accountable for enterprise economics.

CHRO & People Executive Forum

For chief human resources officers and senior people executives shaping leadership and organizational capability.

Growth, Commercial & Technology Forum

For commercial, growth, technology, and transformation executives accountable for where the business goes next.

The room is chosen by the decisions you own, not the title on your card.

Choose the accountability you carry above, then continue.

Who this is for

Six situations where a room earns its keep.

If one of these describes your year, the room is not a networking expense — it is where the decision gets made better. Open the one that fits your year.

Revenue still looks acceptable, but the growth that used to come easily now takes heroics. The next curve has not been designed yet.

“We are working harder for the same number, and I cannot tell whether it is the market or us.”

In the room

You bring the real numbers and the real constraint. The room pressure-tests where the curve actually broke — demand, capacity, decision rights, or leadership bandwidth — and you leave with the next architecture move, not a pep talk.

You intend to sell, recapitalize, or hand the company to the next generation, and the business still runs on you.

“On paper we are ready. In practice, every important decision still comes through my office.”

Peers who have been through a transaction or a succession work on earnings quality, management depth, and an operating system a buyer can underwrite. Buyers price the architecture, not the heroics.

You are the escalation path, the tiebreaker, and the quality control. Vacations are theoretical.

“If I am unavailable for two weeks, decisions wait for me instead of getting made.”

The work is deliberate removal of yourself from the critical path: who decides what, at what threshold, with what information — so capability outlives your calendar.

You are new in a seat where nobody will tell you the truth anymore, and the previous leader's system is still running.

“I inherited a system I did not design, and I have about two quarters of goodwill to change it.”

A confidential set of peers in the same seat, plus a structured way to decide what to keep, what to retire, and what to rebuild first.

Individually strong leaders. Collectively, unclear ownership, slow decisions, and rework between functions.

“Nobody is failing, and yet nothing moves at the speed we need.”

You work the accountability architecture — decision rights, cadence, and the small number of measures that matter — instead of relitigating personalities.

Two or more management systems are running side by side, and the synergy case is drifting.

“We bought the revenue. We did not buy an operating system.”

Peers who have integrated companies work alongside you to sequence what to standardize, what to leave alone, and how to keep the acquired talent while retiring the acquired chaos.

An operating mechanism, not a peer group

The standing session where LEAD™ and ARC™ are run on live issues.

A Compass Executive Forum is not a mastermind or a networking group. It is a recurring leadership operating mechanism: the standing session where executives examine what has changed in the business, where roles, decision rights and alignment are drifting, what must be preserved, and what must be recalibrated — and leave with commitments on the record.

  • Business change →
  • Executive reflection →
  • Leadership recalibration →
  • Operating decision →
  • Execution →
  • Renewal

What changed

The conditions the current design was built for — demand, capacity, ownership, economics — and what has moved since the last session.

Where it is drifting

Roles, decision rights and alignment: where the enterprise is now operating differently than it was designed to.

What must be preserved

The parts of the operating system producing the result. Renewal is not reinvention.

What must be recalibrated

The decision, the owner, the timing and the evidence — carried out of the room as a commitment, then returned to accountable.

Who must carry it now

The seat the work now belongs to. As the enterprise changes, the leadership required to run it changes with it — and the room says so plainly before the calendar does.

LEAD™ sets decisions, ownership and cadence. ARC™ — Assess, Refine, Commit — renews them on a rhythm. The forum is where both are run monthly on issues that carry real consequence, with noncompeting peers and full confidentiality.

The altitude the seat now requires

What earned the seat is rarely what the seat now requires.

Enterprises change faster than leadership designs do. The room reads the shift plainly — as a condition of the leadership system, never as a judgement on the person holding the seat.

Execution → Leverage

The work that earned the seat was personally delivered. The seat now produces through other people's decisions, standards and capacity.

Function → Enterprise

A function optimized well can still cost the enterprise. The seat is now accountable for the whole system's economics, not one column of it.

Solving → Architecting

Solving the problem in front of you is fast and visible. Designing so the problem stops recurring is slower, quieter, and the actual work of the seat.

Inside the room

Assess

Clarify the issue, the consequence, the assumptions, and the decision it requires.

Refine

Use peer questions and relevant experience to reframe the issue and test available paths.

Commit

Define the action, the owner, the timing, and the evidence of progress.

Return accountable

Report what happened, what was learned, and what happens next.

Membership standards

A room only holds its value when every member holds the same line.

Related, not part of this

The Mental Fitness Lab is a cohort, not a room.

Mental Fitness runs on its own calendar, at its own cadence, open to leaders and teams who are not forum members. It is not one of the executive rooms. The full program, cadence and investment are described in its own section of the site.

The investment

$400 – $700 per month .

Based on room and commitment. No initiation fee. No long-term contract. Membership is monthly, and it is expected to earn its place every month.

One forum year is a fraction of a single consulting engagement — and it is the only line item that compounds, because the judgment stays with you.

Why now

The decisions do not wait for the calendar.

Rooms are deliberately small and composed for balance, so seats open only as members rotate. A room is only opened to an executive whose weight matches the table.

Every month you wait is one decision made alone that could have been examined first — and that is the expensive part, not the membership.

The next step costs nothing: a confidential fit conversation. If the room is not right, we will tell you.

A short, confidential conversation about the weight you carry and whether a Compass room is the right place to carry it. No obligation, no selling — and if the fit is right, membership is $400 – $700 per month, month to month.
